David Fischer Avindskjold is an immensely immersive listening experience; thanks to Wyattxhim for talking about this great project. The mixture of dark ambient, atmospheric black metal passages and dungeon synth is really intriguing. Each song individually is good, but when enjoyed as a whole (which due to the crisp 30 minute runtime is very easy to manage), the record transcends the mere sum of its parts. The black metal parts have been increased substantially in comparison to the MMXVII demo. Favorite track: Nævens fejlslag.

FiveFourNine I don't think I have ever heard anything that sounds remotely like this band. It is indeed atmospheric black metal but in a genre that often gets very repetitive in my opinion, Ærekær sound very unique. Great release, one of my top of 2019. Favorite track: Nævens fejlslag.
